Credit Clean Up Help
I am attempting to clean up my credit to possibly by a home in the next 2 yrs. I have some medical collections and a old credit account that was sent to collections.What is the best route to proceed? I had posted about pay-for-delete letters but was advised that collections people arent going to give that. What should I send to them? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Ok , so while being 18 (about 2006) I opened an account with Steinhafles for 1500$ after 6 months I had a late payment , and they jacked up my % to something ridiculous like 40 + and all of the sudden i owe 3300$. I called them to take care of it , but they were really difficult to work with , than I had to change job , my wife lost her job , so long story short it never got paid.Now i got letter from "Asset Acceptance LLC" asking me to settle 4800 for just one time payment of 99$ . Debt question.
So I am pretty much in $2000 worth of debt in unpaid bills. While that originally is not much, I have recently had hours cut at work and am unable to keep up with the bills as the late fees outpace me. What are my options? I have no idea what to do.

Settle or BK? WWYD?
So my story is: I got myself into a jam and ended up having not paying any of my accounts. I continuted making payments to Citifinancial, only because they had a secured interest on my vehicle, until it died, at which point I let them repo it. The plan was to declare BK. Found a place to give me another car loan.The last payment I made was in March of 2011 to Citi, the rest of the accounts were mid-late 2010. Mainly loans, cc and a couple payday loans, although I am not concerned at all...
